LJSA Board of Directors Election Ballot
The annual election for the La Jolla Shores Association Board of Directors will take place at our next meeting, March 13th, 2019. Please submit your vote using the attached Ballot forms.
Voters must be registered members of the La Jolla Shores Association. Please complete the attached registration form on a separate page so that we can verify your membership and/or add you to the list. Ballots will be separated from these forms and counted secretly. There are eight 2-year seats and two 1-year seats up for election.
To be counted, your ballot must be received by Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Print Ballot page and the Registration page (separately) and mail to the La Jolla Shores Association, P. O. Box 64, La Jolla, CA, 92038, or deliver to meeting on Mar 13, 2019 before 7:00pm. Emailed ballots are not accepted. (Only the Ballot and Registration pages need to be mailed)
***La Jolla Shores Association Seeking Qualified Candidates for 2019 Board of Directors***
La Jolla Shores Association (LJSA) is seeking residents, property owners, or business owners, 18 years of age or over, in the La Jolla Shores area to become active Members of the LJSA Board.
Interested candidates can make their intentions known by the close of the February 13th, 2019, Board meeting, by emailing the association’s election committee at the LJSA.firstname.lastname@example.org, or go to the LJSA web site’s contact page at https://lajollashoresassociation.org/suscribe-contact-us/. Elections will be held the following month at our March meeting.
For over 50 years, the La Jolla Shores Association, an active citizen based community forum, has been guiding, advising and leading the discussions with the San Diego City Council, Parks and Recreation, UCSD and other governmental agencies concerning quality of life issues concerning the community and area of La Jolla Shores. The two year term asks volunteers to attend a monthly meeting, taking an active role in discussions and advocacy that enhance and improve our world class community as it continues to grow.
The primary purpose of the Association shall be to provide a community forum for matters affecting the La Jolla Shores Planned District, and to advise the San Diego City Council, Park and Recreation Department, and other governmental agencies as may be appropriate, including the following items of community interest:
(a) To provide liaison for our membership with the La Jolla Town Council, Inc.; the La Jolla Community Planning Association; the University of California San Diego; and other organizations in matters relative to the non-partisan aims of the Association.
(b) To serve the interest of individual property owners and residents through unified action in cooperation with their neighbors in the residential and business areas of La Jolla Shores.
(c) To support the La Jolla Shores Precise Plan, the La Jolla Shores Planned District Ordinance, and the La Jolla Community Plan, which define the character of the district.
(d) To provide recommendations to the city for all parks and public recreation facilities within our boundaries. The city has designated the Association as the sole recreation council for making these recommendations.
(e) To appoint members to the La Jolla Shores Permit Review Committee, which is a joint committee of the Association and the La Jolla Community Planning Association. This committee provides recommendations to the La Jolla Community Planning Association on land use issues in the La Jolla Shores Planned District.
(f) To appoint members to the La Jolla Traffic & Transportation Committee, a joint committee of five community groups.
March 13th: Join us for our next meeting at the beautiful SIO Martin Johnson cottage at 6:30 pm on Wed, 3/13/19.
Our meetings begin at 6:30pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
We meet in Building T-29, on Biological Grade, at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
We now meet every month except December.
